Masterfully woven Tabriz area rugs come in many sizes and exciting patterns in vibrant colours including navy blues, burgundies, reds, beiges and pinks.
Tabriz is the second largest city in north-western Iran and was once a major centre for trade. As part of the legendary silk route that linked the Orient with Europe, the multi-cultural influences account for the exciting and diverse range of styles in Tabriz rugs.

Featured motif: The Shah Abbasi: named after one of the most influential Persian leaders. A unique signature flower design often seen on Tabriz Persian rugs.
Master weavers of Tabriz rugs often sign their best work. Cotton is the most common foundation, but finer rugs have silk foundations. Some extraordinary Tabriz carpets include 18 or 24 karat gold thread.
Colors: Along with the popular reds, you’ll see burgundy, navy blue with white, beige and pink highlights.

Patterns: Floral patterns abound as well as pictorials showing hunting scenes.
